Relax and renew while exploring the sweetness of the local Portuguese countryside.
As the seasons change we invite you to share a relaxing and restorative time with us in the beautiful autumnal hills of central Portugal. Join members of our warm and engaging kula for five days of community, service, practice, nourishing balancing foods, fireside discussions of our NDST (non-dual Shaiva Tantra) dharma, and some fascinating excursions into local Portuguese culture.
The day starts with an invigorating and restorative asana practice and meditation followed by a warming cup of tea or coffee and service to the community. Choose to work in the kitchen, help in the garden or bring your particular skills to share with us. Enjoy a delicious home prepared, vegetarian brunch as you consider an afternoon excursion or simply some quiet time to rest, read, journal, and reflect. Excursions include a hike on a section of the Portuguese Camino, foraging for exotic mushrooms with a certified mycologist, and a cooking class and demonstration with our own celebrated chef Lynn Halstead to prepare warming seasonal dishes. Perhaps indulge in a relaxing massage or bodywork. A delicious dinner and table conversation precedes an evening in the library in front of the fire with our Founder and Head Faculty Hareesh Wallis.
Please note that this retreat will be self-guided within a structured timetable and program. There will be no curriculum or specific teachings.
